Christmas Day...............

The big day is finally here and I couldn't believe all the great gifts under the tree! Mom has to work today so we all got up early to open up the presents....I guess I was more gooder than my Dad and Mom this past year 'cause there were like way more gifts for me than anyone else!!!!
Thanks everbody!!!!!........Merry Christmas!!!!!

Christmas Eve....

So for a little guy like me, I`m pretty sure there is something going on around here! Mom is putting up all kinds of decorations, Dad was organizing a bunch of boxes and there is a tree in the house! Me and the Kitty cat sure wanted to exlopre that new addition to the dining room!

I will maybe open a gift or two (three??) tonight and finish off the rest in the morning...super exciting! Merry Christmas!

Frosty the snowman.....

What says winter more than a snowman and snow angels?...maybe christmas and candy-canes but that`s not for a few more days!! It was snowing pretty hard so it was the perfect time to get bundled up to go outside and enjoy the weather....and what else but build a snow-man!!

My Dad`s Birthday.....

Well, my dad turned 35 and we went to the Colander resturant in Trail to celebrate. He really likes the spaghetti and chicken special (who dosen`t?) and so do I!!!!!

Santa was at the mall!..........

so we were at the mall today and lo-and-behold!........so was Santa Claus! Well. I couldn't believe it and just had to take a picture with Ethan to prove it!

Ethan hasen`t quite got the hang of what Santa can do for him around this time of year but with all the kids gathered around this jolly old man in the red suit, he figures something good must be happening!!

Maybe next year he will talk to him!

Merry Chistmas!

Don`t slurp your noodles...

You may not know this but Ethan`s Mom really dosen`t like when you slurp your noodles or your soup......trust me I know her pretty good by now!

So Ethan and Dad were looking for something to snack on the other night and we tried out the Ichiban noodles....what a treat! they are tasty, long and gooey and so much fun to eat, (and you have to slurp them up!) We had so much fun with it that even Ethan`s Mom enjoyed all the "slurping!"
Thanks for understanding Mom!

Some of the Kaslo Crew..

Grandma Debbie was in town for some X-mas shopping and to watch Uncle Brad play hockey, so her and Aunty Andrea came by for a visit. Ethan showed them all of his stuff and told(well, ponted and prodded) them to play some games with him. We will see them during our christmas vacation which starts tommorow!...yippee!

Snow day!!!

We all had the day off and it just so happened to snow last night!......apparently that means "get yer boots and touque on cause were going outside!"............turns out that all it meant for me was shoveling the driveway but it sure looked like Mom and Ethan had a good time in the snow!

We have to get this kid a sled!

Mom`s Birthday

Well Ethan`s Mom turned the big '30' on Nov. 27 so we just had to have a little party to celabrate! What fun! we had a pinata, ice-cream cake, presents and a whole bunch of laughs!

Nick and Jamie came by, Baba and the crew were already here so it made for a pretty exciting time......I think Mom even forgot that '30' was supposed to be some kind of milestone. That`s OK, Mom we will love you at 30, 40, 50, 60, 70.......you get the idea!

Just hangin` around

We (well I mean me) have been very busy with school and end of semester work so I have not been quite up to date with Ethan`s page here......com`on Dad get it together! So here are some of the odds and ends Ethan has been doing lately. We said goodbye to our friend and renter Jim Baker last month as he has moved back to Nanaimo, too bad as Ethan and I liked to go down and visit Jim when Mom is working evenings, all of our hard work around the house was just done just in time as the snow is here and we can spend our time playing outside! Ethan`s Baba was down for a week and Uncle Ken with cousin`s Emma and Maxie to play. Brayden made a suprise appearance with Aunty Tamada to join in on the fun so there has been no shortage of action around here lately!

Day trip to Grannies`

I took Ethan down to Keremeos to see Grannie Reimer and Great-Grannie Erickson. We had a good visit and both of his Grannies were very happy to see him!

BOO!............

It`s Halloween and Ethan is Eeyore, from winnie the pooh! This little guy didn`t actually go out for the tricking and treating this year but for sure next, at this point I think a pile of candy for him would just end up in my lunch anyways...hmmmm, maybe I should have taken him?! We had only one group of kids and they came so late that Ethan was already sleeping and missed out on the live action, but we did some trick or treating with the the kitty-cat earlier this evening so I think he got the just of it.

Happy Halloween everyone!

Mr. potato head......

Mom got Ethan a Mr. potato head and it is exactly as I remember, except for the potato head family, not sure if Mr. potato head was married with kids back in the day but the whole gang is here now! Ethan tried to make me put on Mr. potato`s gear but they were too small, although he managed to get the glasses on his own potato....hopefully he doesn`t stick Mr. potato`s nose into his ear and get it stuck!

Nobody`s here....

Ethan and Mom are back in Castlegar for a visit and poor Dad (me) is left all by himself. Pretty quiet around here as the only sound I hear is the click, click of the keyboard as I try to catch up on my school work. I was going through some pics of the little guy and kind of like this one of him giving the kitty cat some mum, mums.......

What do you mean?....

Ethan had a hard lesson in yard mantainence as we were just out cleaning up the yard last weekend......and low and behold, it`s covered in leaves again! What do you mean I have to rake up more leaves? it`s tough and I think his Mom agrees.....stupid leaves. Well what are you going to do but keep on raking. Then again Ethan is more of a play in the leaf pile kind of a guy, rather than a pick 'em up and put them in the bag but he`s learning and we will take all the help we can get!

Park it....

It was play time with Dad on Sunday as Mom was working so we decided to go into town and see what Andrea was up to. We went for lunch at McDonald`s and then went over to the park for a play. They had a slide, a swing and a bouncing bridge to play on, Ethan noticed some seagulls in the field and thought they want want to play with him......poor guy, they wanted nothing to do with him and just left him watching as they flew away! .............next time we will bring some crackers to intice them.

Get to work.....

The snow is coming soon so we spent the day outside getting ready. We covered the pool, dug up the garden, put away the sand box and slide, and stored all Ethan`s outside toys. He helped out with the raking, helped pick the apples, he helped Dad (well, cheered me on from the ground) put the roof over the back deck, he helped Mom with some of the planters and a ton of other chores! Yesirie, he was a big help and really enjoyed himself, of course he has no idea about the chores I`ve already got set up for him for the next, Oh, say 20 years or so. I will have to remind him about how much fun the work was when he was little boy!

Gobble, Gobble, Turkey day.........

Well it`s Thanksgiving and Mom spent all day making a wonderful feast for us to enjoy. There was turkey, mashed potatoes, veggies, cranberries and even two pies for dessert! Ethan was very helpful getting ready for dinner and looked like he could hardly wait to sit down to eat.....needless to say dinner lastest, oh about 5-10 minutes before he decided he had enough and as quick as you could say 'Gobble, Gobble' it was all over! Regardless, the meal was great and the leftovers are even better! Mabye next year we will try and not let the little man pick away at dinner while we are making it! Happy Thanksgiving!

Pumpkin Patch......

We took Ethan to the McMillan Pumpkin patch and WOW there were alot of pumpkins! He even got to take one home to carve for Halloween! There were balloons, hay-rides kids games and all sorts of people there. We tried out the hay-bale maze, the tractor train rides and even some photo fun! Once Ethan decides,......... by that I mean when Mom decides,......... on what to carve I will post a picture of the finished product

Back on the blog.........

Well I`ve been away from Ethan`s page for far too long and I will have to apologize to....well, Ethan I guess, and any of you who happen to visit him around here. So what`s been happening? Where should I start? how about Ethan has a brand new little cousin, Brayden Alexsandro Rotach, born on September 25, 2007. He is one handsome little fella! We have had lots of action over the last few weeks and I will try to re-cap the events. Uncle Ken, Aunty Chistine with cousins Emma and Maxie were here on their way through to Victoria. We took a quick trip back to Castlegar and had good visits with Baba and Deda, Grannie and Grandpa Ron, Sara and Allison, Aunty Angie and Uncle Argon along with cousins Emma and Olivia, Lisa and Kelven,..... there are alot of people to list so I will just say everyone! Last weekend Grandpa Reimer came by for a visit with Aunty Shelley and Uncle Cam on their way back from their Reno trip!

Big time artist.......

Mom got Ethan a colouring book and a big pack of crayons....and yes, he wants to colour everything, walls, floors, me, himself, along with the book!.....like that`s anything new with crayons and kids! I had heard from a fine-arts student at school that colouring outside the lines shows great creativity and abstract thinking.......I`m not sure how that relates to Ethan at 16 months but we will have to say he`s some kind of budding Picasso, or mabye a Schultz...........maybe?! you never know!

I scream, You scream, we all scream.....

Well Sunday was another beautiful day and we went into Peachland for a walk down at the beach and wouldn`t you know it.....they were still selling ice-cream cones!
Ethan hasn`t had too much experience with the stuff but we are pretty sure he likes vanilla, Mom likes pralines 'n' cream and I had some kind of fudge. This could have been the last kick at the cones for the season so we figure we were pretty lucky to get it! Yummy!

Aunty Andrea in Kelowna...

Andrea is back in Kelowna working on her schooling at Okanagan College so we are very glad to have her around for some good family company! She is staying at a friends from Kaslo and not only do they have a big backyard to run around in but an even bigger puppy dog, ....well hardly a puppy..... but it still says"woof, woof!" It will be fun with her here and i`m sure we will have some great stories to post here on Ethan`s page!

Yum, Yum....

We are pretty happy that Ethan likes his veggies but corn on the cob has to be his favorite! His Great-Grandpa Reimer also thought it was the ultimate summer-time treat and who can disagree with fresh corn on the cob?
Well.........mabye Mom as she is chasing behind this little fella picking up the leftovers from the floor! Ethan and I think it`s a small price to pay for such a delicious meal....and I only spill half of what he does so..........
it`s best he gets his veggies!
Thanks Mom!

No matter what you call it......it`s the same stuff!!

We went down to Bear Creek Park for a visit, checked out the bridge construction and walked around the campground. Ethan was cruising around the day park picking up sticks and rocks as well as keeping clear of the Geese and their mess, around here we call it "ka-ka", some call it "do-do" and others just don`t call it anything "good".
Anyways, we were wrapping up our little trip when Ethan picked up a stick? a rock?...no it`s a big peice of .....well you get the picture, at least he is passed shoving everything he touches directly into his mouth!

Busy, Busy........

Well, we have had plenty of company here lately as well as a quick trip back to Castlegar so I will try to get it all in.

Aunty Jenny was here for a week, Aunty Shelley with cousins Alison and Sara were here for a couple of days, Baba and Deda were here for a couple nights, Grannie came for the night, Aunty Yaro, Uncle Dave and cousin Bailey stopped through on the way to Banff, Grandapa Ron was here for a day, Cousin Nick and Jamie camped out in the yard for a night, we saw Grandpa Reimer in Nelson, we visited with Uncle Ken, Aunty Christine and cousins Emma and Maxie, we had a good visit ay Grannie and Grandpa Ron`s, we saw Aunty Tamada and Uncle Sandro along with the soon to be little one, we had a visit from Aunty Lisa and Uncle Kelvin, we got to hang out with Cousin Justin(the original Hi-five) and Megan as well as probably going through the list again once or twice again. Ethan`s been a little sick with a cold the last couple of days so were glad all this visiting was done while he was feeling good!

Whew! That`s alot of action for this little guy...................(or mabye just his Dad!)

My Deda told me to....

Ethan has a new thing to play with.....his nose! So we are trying to be understanding of this desire to stick his finger in his nose and assume it will pass.

Ethan`s Deda wanted to see what all the hype was about so he asked Ethan to stick it in there for a picture.......of course he was happy to do it and here`s the picture. I`m not sure if i should be proud or not?

"Hi-five"........

Nick and Jamie came by for a visit and to check out Ethan`s scene over here across the bridge. We hopped in the pool, had some burgers and had a good time hanging around.

Ethan showed Jamie and Nick that he has mastered the art of the "Hi-five" which he has been working on since his last trip to Castlegar. I think he is pretty proud of himself and rightfully so!

Regardless, it`s nothing but good times over here!

Boys and their toys...

Mom was able to get Ethan a new toy box for his ever expanding toy collection and as per many a child before him....he liked the box it came in better than the toys it will hold!

We finally got the new toy box into his room filled it with toys and well....all he wants to do is climb into the toy box and sit on the toys rather than play with them, go figure.

I suppose when we have another baby, I will simply fill up a cardboard box with styrofoam peanuts and put the money into an education fund!

Summer fun...

Our internet has been offline for awile so now that it`s back on we can update on the latest happenings with Ethan and us. Last weekend the Leferguy`s were down on their way through to Vancouver and had a great time in the pool and just hanging out. Mom was working all week and I was in school so today we had the day off and took Ethan into town to check out the local Kelowna 'Mardi-gras' with tons of sidewalk shows, bands and festivities. We had a very good time and also ran into Ethan`s second cousins, Conner and Elaina. Elaina gave him a red clown nose to wear, perhaps a prelude to Halloween? Beyond that we are busy with the house, yard and playing around with this little man.

Just a day at the beach...

Well, we all had the day off today, it was absolutely gorgeous out side.....so what else would we do but go to the beach!

The ducks took quite a liking to Ethan, or maybe just his cracker, but we played with them, played in the sand, played in the water, played on the swing, played on the hill....(i`m sure you get the idea!) Too bad everyday`s not today!
